
Frog is a picture book character created by Dutch author and illustrator Max Velthuijs. The first Frog title in English was published in 1989, entitled Frog in Love, translated by Klaus Flugge for Andersen Press. Frog books have been translated into more than 50 languages.
Born in The Hague in 1923, Max Velthuijs is now considered to have been one of Holland's most important creators of children's books, alongside Dick Bruna. Max won many awards, including the highly prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 2004. He died in 2005, aged 81.
Frog Finds a Friend
A charming story about the well-loved character Frog, showing friendship and parting. When Frog finds a teddy bear all alone in the forest, he takes him home.
Despite the derision of his friends, he plays football with him in the daytime, and tells him stories in the evening to teach the little bear to talk, which indeed he does!
